The page has been quiet lately due to me being away. On this past Friday I was at Parris Island, SC attending my brothers graduation from USMC boot camp. It was a totally refreshing trip. I, purposely, blocked out all news whether it be TV, radio, or print so that I could just experience the trip. One of the things I found most refreshing was the total support for the troops from the people I encountered. I also was impressed by the civility, politeness, and overall decency of the men and women who were in this latest group of boot camp graduates.
There were 316 men who graduated that day. While down there talking to people/friends/family of the graduates I encounteres all races and colors and even political beliefs. What was so refreshing was the unabashed support of not only the troops but of the mission in Iraq. Grante, these were people who’s son’s/brothers etc could and probably will be in Iraq soon and while there was some disagreements from people on whether or not we should of gone over to Iraq in the 1st place there was a unified voice that since we are there, they should be given all the tools needed to do the job.
