I’m baaack….
Ok, I know it’s been awhile. Seems the end of every summer a sort of writers block kicks in. Doesn’t keep me from reading all the links that you see here nor does it mean that I’m not paying attention and forming opinions of the chaotic mess we call American Politics. So let me just hit on some things that have been on my mind as I watch the slow pace of the Presidential primaries. I’ll expand on some of these things over the upcoming days.
The donor scandal going on right now for the dems is the gift that keeps on giving! So Hillary as well as a ton of other Dem’s took money from Hsu, who was a fugitive from the law at the time, willingly and happily. They had no vetting process even as Hsu became a “Hill Raiser” and was getting photo ops with Hillary. What’s that tell you about a Hillary presidency? Can we truly trust someone to run our nation’s finances when they can’t manage their own campaign’s finances?
The Republican debate on Fox, my my my what can I say about that? Is anyone else waiting for the time when Guilani or Hunter or even Tancredo jumps across the stage and gives Ron Paul a beat down for blaming US policies for 9-11? Whomever does it first gets my vote! Now as to who won the debate, that’s probably depends on what your biggest issue is. Both Rudy and Romney got slammed on some things but that comes with front runner status. They both won some battles and lost some battles. McCain did surprisingly well considering the total drop in the polls he’s had since amnesty. Huckabee handled a confrontation with Ron “conspiracy theory” Paul very well and even Hunter had his moments. Ron Paul had all 100 of his fans there clapping to everything he talked about, but lets face it. He’s a moonbat nutjob that is so far out on things he’s only there for entertainment purposes. For my money, Romney did the best job in handling the mud being slung at him so he’s moved up in my eyes.
Now let’s talk about Fred Thompson. I was and still am a fan of Fred’s. However, I’m worried because he doesn’t seem to have his head and ass wired together campaign wise. I’m ok with him coming in late to the party, to be honest the party started and will peak too soon but I’m worried about any sort of long haul cohesive campaign coming from him right now. Sure I think sheer personality and force of will can carry him to the GOP nomination but if he’s this disorganized in the general election we’ll lose to Hillary. I, for one, will not take her loss as a sure thing. The Clintonista machine is very strong and historically they don’t make the killer mistakes and even when they do their strong enough in the press to keep it from killing them. White water gate? Chinese fund raising? Lewinsky? Vince Foster? Anyone of those things would of killed another politician but not the Clintons and to think that it was just Bill that got away with it is dead wrong. Not one of those things came close to getting him and Hillary suffered no collateral damage from any of them. She can be beat but it will take a good campaign to do it. I’m not sure Fred’s the guy yet but I’m listening.
