Ahmedinjehad, the Miss Manners of the Middle East

Ok, this is so deserving a cup of STFU, that I’m going to give it the big picture instead of the thumbnail.

Jews acting like beastly persons, Ahmadinejad says

Published: 05.25.07, 13:31 / Israel News

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that “there is a group occupying the young Palestinians while the latter are defending their mothers and fathers, and presenting them as terrorists.

“Do these criminals believe in God and in the Bible? They are like beastly persons; they have no faith in God. We object to the crimes making bad use in the name of Judaism,” he added in a speech to the Iranian people. (Dudi Cohen)

I mean seriously, wtf? He’s going to critique whether the actions of Israel are following Judaic principles? This cups for you Ahmedinjehad.

How evil are you…

When Iran says you’re evil? I saw this post by SeeDubya over at Junkyard Blog. It’s about how someone working for the Soros funded Open Society Institute is behing held by the Iranian Mullahs.

CAIRO, Egypt — Iran has detained an Iranian-American consultant working for George Soros’ Open Society Institute, the latest U.S. citizen connected to a non-governmental organization to be seized in the country, the institute said Wednesday.

The detention of Kian Tajbakhsh comes amid a crackdown on NGOs at a time when Iranian authorities accuse the United States of using critics and dissidents to overthrow the country’s hard-line government.

Now SeeDubya makes the point that it’s not very smart of the mullahs to do this. The gist I get from reading his post is that it doesn’t behoove the Iranians to detain someone who is working so hard against your enemies. It’s a good point. However, I’d counter with the point that Iran is actually making a good move from their point of view. Soros is an evil man who toplles governments like a beach bully topples little kids sandcastles. Perhaps what we should do is pack up the whole lot of Sorosians, secular progressive nutjobs, truthers, and even crane lift Rosie O into a boat and send them over to Iran. 1 of 2 things would happen, either the mullahs would solve the problems of these people or Rosie and crew would topple to government.

A cup of STFU and some things you didn’t hear about on TV

Ok I’ve put on a pot of STFU on and want to dish some quick cups out to some people and groups before I get to some news you haven’t heard of.

1st cup goes to anyone and everyone writing about Paris Hilton, please people she’s a skank and not worth y of anyones bandwidth. Stop writing about her and instead write about the mini revolution going on in PARIS FRANCE.

2nd cup goes to the news agencys calling the riots in Paris France “unrest” or says they are being done by “youths”. Idjits it’s a riot led by Muslims unhappy that someone got elected who isn’t going to take their shit anymore.

3rd cup goes to just the media in general for their bs coverage of positive events in Iraq. Speaking of crappy coverage how about the fact that my beloved Philadelphia is behind probably only Baghdad in the number of deaths of American citizens this year.

4th cup to the Philadelphia media and politicians specifically. I’d like to see Arlen Spector, Joe Sestak, the Inky, and the Daily News all start calling for the impeachment of Mayor John Street for his horrific handling of Philadelphia. Heck even Bush changed strategy and started a surge….the biggest things Street did last year was trying to evict the Boy Scouts and investigating Joey Ventro for discrimination (Geno’s steaks, order in English thing).

Ok, that’s all the cups for right now, it was only a small pot this time. I think periodically I’m just going to rant a little about things and then go back to being more serious. It’s good for the soul.

Now some news you might not of heard about. Things in Somalia stink horribly.

SOMALIA: TOP U.N. REFUGEE AGENCY OFFICAL SHOCKED AT PLIGHT OF DISPLACED

Geneva, 4 May (AKI) – The UN refugee agency’s assistant high commissioner for operations, Judy Cheng-Hopkins who has just completed a four-day trip to Baidoa and Galkayo, in south-central Somalia, says she is shocked by the living conditions of people who have been displaced after fleeing recent heavy fighting in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. An estimated 1,300 people have died since the beginning of April, in clashes between forces of the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and their Ethiopian allies against Islamist insurgents.

Of course they do. See there’s this big war going on there between the Islamic Courts and people who want to be free. You might of noticed it Mr. UN guy since it’s been going on since Clinton abandoned them in 92 or so. America has been focused so much on Iraq that we haven’t been able to send any troops in. Ethopia did but it’s not enough. Threatswatch.org has much more detail about it here. See now many will think that it’s a small African country with no strategic importance but I’m telling you we all thought the same thing about Afghanistan. However Somalia will be even more important for Al-quaeda because it has seaports and can be the starting point in toppling African countries that can barely stand on their own now. The African Union (AU) has been helping a little there also, but you have to wonder how long that help will be there considering this:

THE African Union has delayed paying allowances to the Ugandan peace-keepers in Somalia since they deployed two months ago.

“They have not been given the money yet,” army spokesman Maj. Felix Kulayigye confirmed yesterday.

From the same article, and just as disappointing:

“Countries like Burundi, Nigeria, Ghana and others have pledged troops but they cannot deploy due to financial problems. If other countries do not commit troops soon, it will be a total disaster for Africa,” Konare said during a press conference in Kampala on April 27.

Another thing you haven’t heard of is this little article here:

YEMEN: JEWS CHASED FROM THEIR HOMES BY SHIITE REBELS

Sanaa, 3 May (AKI) – A group of armed Shiite rebels led by the Yemeni imam Abdel Malik al-Houthi are chasing members of the small Jewish community in the province of Sada, in north Yemen, from their homes and forcing them to leave the region. According to a report on the Arabic newspaper al-Zaman, the armed group, which the government of Yemen believes to be financed by Iran, forced a group of 45 Yemeni Jews, who have lived for hundreds of years in the village of Salim in the province of Sada to move to the capital Sanaa for security reasons.

Damn Joo’s causing trouble, how dare they think they can live in peace in a Muslim country. The nerve. Thank god CNN is around to show how this is a problem in Muslim countries and how Islam flunks the kindergarten rule. They can’t “play well with others”. The article goes on to point a big finger at the real culprit here, but you won’t hear about it in the news.

Hundreds of people have been killed in the current conflict with the Shiite rebels. According to the authorities in Sanaa, Tehran is behind this armed group and is seeking to destabilise the region.

Iran eh? Nah couldn’t be since everything with Iran is just a right wing fabrication. Yeah that country has nothing but the best intentions of everyone at heart and loves peace and freedom.

IRAN: TEHRAN POLYTECHNIC STUDENT ARRESTED

Tehran, 4 May (AKI) – A student of top Tehran university Amir Kabir Polytechnic was arrested Friday amid campus rallies. Ahmad Ghassaban, an engineer student and the editor of the university magazine Sahar (dawn) is accused of inciting fellow students to carry out protests. Some 12 students of the Polytechnic are currently detained including Babak Zamanian, spokesman of the Islamic association of Amir Kabir.
On Monday, a group of supporters of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad forced their way into the campus of the university and assaulted a group of student activists who were staging a peaceful rally (emphasis mine-Logan) against the detention of Zamanian, who was arrested last week. About a dozen students who were stabbed and attacked with chains were transferred to hospital. A similar attack by Ahmadinejad supporters was carried out Monday against activists at the university of Lorestan, in western Iran.

I’m sure the media is reporting this and that universities across the country are burning Iranian flags and protesting to show solidarity right? Where are the scions of the ivory towers? I’m sure they are getting the protests ready, they are probably just waiting on word from Soros

Speaking of Iran, 2 nations reportedly are cutting down on their money somewhat. Italy and Singapore have frozen banks in their countries that are Iranian in nature. One tidbit part in the Singapore article that I found interesting was this:

Following UN Security Council Resolution 1747, which restricts ties with the financial institutes of the Islamic Republic, starting from 7 May, DBS will close down all the accounts of Iranian companies and citizens and block all credit cards in their names (emphasis mine-Logan).

I’ve seen alot of articles where Iranian assets were frozen but this is the 1st and only one I’ve seen where it’s specifically mentioned credit cards. It stands to reason that credit cards were shut down on all, but I wonder “can they still be used as a form of ID, perhaps to get another card?”.

Just some random rants and things you might not of heard about. Because sometimes someone has to say the things you want to but can’t.

Logan

The protest you don’t know about

There was and still is a series of protests going on at universities across a country and you probably haven’t heard of it.

IRAN: STUDENTS IN LORESTAN OCCUPY UNIVERSITY

Tehran, 27 April (AKI) – Students at the university of Lorestan, in western Iran, are carrying out an all-out protest, following the example of their peers in the capital Tehran, in Babol near the Caspian sea, and Shiraz in the west, who are rallying against new government measures imposing strict new dress codes and opening hours on campus as well as restrictions on political activity. For the past three days about 1,000 students have been occupying the campus.

The deputy dean of the university of Lorestan, Abedin Darvishpour, has also stepped down to express solidarity with the students.

“It is not possible to transform university in military barracks and demand blind obedience from the students,” Darvishpour reportedly told the protesters.

Hear about these series of protests? No I didn’t think so. Wonder why? Because the defeatist media is afraid of painting Iran as an oppressive regime. Whether it’s some mass collective guilt from being too hawkish in the days leading up to the Iraq war, or because they are tools of the Democratic Dhimmi plan who knows. What is known is that they are betraying the news, things like this are important when in the light of the nuclear arms development there. Of course, your saying “the media is biased and we all know it” (that is if your a conservative), if your a liberal you’re going to say that I’m making something out of nothing. However, I’d say to the liberals, “isnt’ this something even you would want to know about? Don’t you get your jollies off at student protests against a religous leader?” Oh wait, that’s only when it’s Bush.
For all the student’s and inhabitants of the ivory towers across America, where is your solidarity? How come you aren’t staging protests here in America to show your brothers in education in Iran that you stand with them? I would of said brothers and sisters, but we know that in Iran women are so oppressed most don’t goto college. Seriously, it’s things like this that make me want to pull an Elvis and shoot my TV, because not even Fox shows things like this, and supposedly they are the tool of the right!

The West should invade Iran

While ol’ Logan discusses how he thinks our rights should be dimished due to simple pride, I think a better issue is brewing. One that people seem very scared to talk about. Iran.

I was reading this article, and decided this would make a very appropriate first post.

So, some British sailors are now captives of Iran. When I heard of this, I was not shocked. Its not like Iran has never done this before, eh? Like invaded foreign soil and made some people guests of their country against their will. And so far, it appears that the basic same formula will be used to deal with it as when the American Embassy was invaded: A stern warning!

Don’t get me wrong. I really do like Tony Blair. Yes, he’s a lefty, but at least he’s a lefty with some hawk and ass-kicking ability. He’s been there with the US through the 9-11 and our response to it. Unlike the rest of the west. But. The language and the bleh of the response to kidnapping 15 British soldiers is rather placid. “Ok. Give em back! Or… We’ll go to the UN!”

Come on! Those bastards kidnapped British citizens and servicemen! They almost certainly weren’t even in Iranian waters, either. Hell, even if they were, you CANNOT allow a country to just kidnap people without something a little more substantial then “We’ll make the UN get you.”

The proper response should be quite simple.

1. You move, openly and loudly, troops to the Iranian border from places in Iraq.
2. You tell the Iranian thug government “They will be returned to us within 90 mins. Or we invade. I have discussed this with the US, and President Bush completly agrees and is willing to commit US troups to this. You. Will. Return. Our. Men. Now.”
3. And when they refuse (And lets be blunt, they would. This is because the West has NOT proven themselves willing to use overwelming force against aggression) you go in and beat the hell out of them. And then topple their government, too. Iran is the biggest troublemaker in the middle east, and it would do nothing but good to kill the asses in charge.
4. As sad as it sounds…And cold hearted… You ignore threats to kill the men if we invade. Allowing talk like this to govern what needs to be done is a part of how terrorism has managed to get such a good foothold in the world. “We’ll kill the men” should be responded with “And then we’ll kill YOU.”

The biggest problem in the world right now is the ‘good guys’ are afraid to use the force they have. The only way to truly be safe is to possess the power to kill alot of people, and the willingness to use it if you are threatened in any way. Peace is only gotten through the use of violence. True peace. Ask the people of Europe how well appeasing the aggressor worked in the late 1930’s, eh?
