Info on the 6 day War

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the 6 Day War, between Israel and virtually the entire middle east. I wasn’t even born when this happened, but have read about it, and read about the tenacity and sheer testicular fortitude of the Israeli Defence Force. I read this awesome recap/history of it over at Debbie Schlussel’s page (she’s a great writer, read her often). I so want the T-shirt she shows a picture of, if anyone knows where I can get it drop me a comment, if not I might have to fire up photo shop and make one.

awesome t-shirt

Today’s cup of STFU goes to….

Cup of STFUThe tea drinking British University system. Seems they are going to “reccomend a boycott” anything Israeli due to the “occupation of Palestine”.

UK lecturers support Israel boycott call

Union passes motion calling on members to ‘consider the moral implications of links with Israeli academic institutions;’ Israeli academic: The people behind this motion are working for forces of evil

Yaakov Lappin
Latest Update: 05.30.07, 20:40 / Israel News

Britain’s University and College Union (UCU), comprising of university academics, voted in favor of considering a boycott of Israeli academics and institutions at its conference in Bournemouth on Thursday evening.

Anti-Semitism
‘Israel being ostracized’ / Yaakov Lappin
British-Jewish academic, speaking before boycott vote, says ‘there’s something in the air in the UK, boycott will lead to anti-Semitism’
Full Story
The resolution, passed by 158 votes in favor and 99 against, “notes that Israel’s 40-year occupation has seriously damaged the fabric of Palestinian society through annexation, illegal settlement, collective punishment and restriction of movement… deplores the denial of educational rights for Palestinians by invasions, closures, checkpoints, curfews, and shootings and arrests of teachers, lecturers and students.”

Um, does anyone else see some stupidity here? Let’s take a look at some things.

  • The main country responsible for the RE-creation of Israel (please notice it wasn’t the creation of Israel, rather the granting of the land back for a reformation of the state) was um Britain!
  • Collective punishment? Perhaps but aren’t even the children of the pali-animals taught to hate Israel and want Jews dead? Perhaps since it’s even the women and children bearing weapons against Israel “collective punishment” might be deserved?
  • Restriction of movement? Seriously get a grip, if no Palestinians were walking around Jewish towns with bombs strapped to them maybe movement wouldn’t be restricted?
  • Arrest of teachers? Are these the same teachers using Mickey Mouse looking characters to teach children to hate Jews? On second thought, you’re right they should protest the arrest of these teachers. They shouldn’t be arrested, they should be shot for teaching hate to children.

Now, lets bear this in mind, it’s not an actual boycott, YET, but rather a “reccomendation” to “consulate with members” on whether or not to boycott Israeli academics. There are some words of wisdom coming out of all this, but not from the British side of course *emphasis below is mine*:

Responding to the resolution, Professor Menachem Kellner, Professor of Jewish Thought at Haifa University, said: “I’m deeply disappointed by the failure of truth and justice at this vote.” “I don’t think such a boycott will seriously impact Israeli academia, but I treat it with seriousness because it will affect Jewish organizations abroad,” Kellner added. “The people who organized this boycott are working for the forces of evil. They not working for Palestinians, they are working against Israel,” Kellner declared, adding:

“If there was something there that would actually help Palestinians, I would say they are honest but dumb. But this is just an attempt to defame and delegitimize Israel.”

“This is a sad day for British academia. The boycott resolution is a badge of dishonor,” Kellner said.
I for one am hoping that the Brit’s wise up. Their government has been a staunch ally in the war on terror and it would be a shame to see a swing in their stance start within some of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world. For all those who voted against decency and civilization…this cups for you.

Cup of STFU

Couldn’t happen to nicer folks

Saw this over at LGF andhad to have a little chuckle with the Nelson voice from the Simpsons.

3 PFLP operatives hurt while preparing explosives in north Gaza

Published: 05.13.07, 21:54 / Israel News

Three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were hurt in an explosion in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip. The blast apparently occurred when the three were preparing explosives or a Qassam rocket. One of them was in critical condition. (Ali Waked)

Now this is only a few miles from Sderot, so I’m even happier if these animals were intending to go there.Take a look at the map below and see how close they were to Sderot.
Sderot to beit lahiya

Won’t see in the news how these islamoids died. Nope see Israel didn’t kill them and they didn’t kill any innocents so it isn’t news worthy. Me personally, I did a little dance.

Update on Sderot

WAY back on June 14th of 2006 I wrote about Sderot, Israel. It’s a small city of about 20,000 people in Israel that has been under missle attack for years. Yet the world says nothing. Think there is peace right now between the Pali’s and Israel? Think Israel is the aggressor against the pali’s? Think again! Look at some of the recent news articles about Sderot (only in Israeli News, the MSM here in the states couldn’t give a shit it seems).

  • Sderot home hit by Quassam missle on May 5th 2007 (FYI, one landed near a kindergarten).
  • Factory is hit by a Quassam missle, hundreds of people working there at the time on May 2nd 2007.

That’s just recently. The media is quiet here in the states because it’s against their creed to portray any follower of Islam in a negative light unless they absolutely have to. They rely on the ignorance of the American public to censor what we hear and see. Now if an errant American missle hit a muslim town or an errant Israeli missle, well it would be all over the news. Please please look at this page here for a 12 minute video of what’s going on in Sderot. It’s eye opening.

Sounds good in theory but…

THIS isn’t going to happen and we all know it.

UNIFIL wants ability to fight Hizbullah

UNIFIL, for those that don’t know is United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon AKA Hezbollah’s water carriers. Seems that they aren’t happy with their mandate in Southern Lebanon because they can’t engage Hezbollah without the Lebanese Army there. So we know what happens..probably goes like this.

UNIFIL Commander: Hey Mr Lebanese Army guy…these Hezbollah boys are moving a load of rockets to a house that looks into Israel Territory..we’re supposed to stop them can you come down and watch.

Lebanese Army: Gee I don’t know, I gotta finish this coffee, got a load of laundry in the washer and well YouTube has all these videos I haven’t seen.

UNIFIL Commander: Dude we really are supposed to have you be here before we go tell Hezbollah that they are being bad. Please come on down here.

Lebanese Army: Well, you see this download is going to take awhile, but I’ll come down right after it’s done. I’ll take the express lane I promise.

Well thats what I read between the lines here. Here’s the actual quotes.

According to the mandate’s rules of engagement, UNIFIL soldiers are not allowed to engage Hizbullah guerrillas independently. They must first contact the LAF and wait for their arrival and decision whether they request UNIFIL assistance.

“There is a feeling of frustration within UNIFIL that under the current rules of engagement they are not free to do their job, which is to prevent Hizbullah rearmament in southern Lebanon,” an Israeli defense official told the Post.

So it seems pretty clear here that UNFIL will get it’s mandate changed, right? I mean after all the UN wouldn’t send troops in there and then handcuff them from getting the job done (only democrats do that). WRONG. Here’s the reason why you shouldn’t expect a change anytime soon.

This would certainly be in Israel’s best interest,” a source in IDF Northern Command said. “With more aggressive rules of engagement, UNIFIL would be able to more effectively carry out its role at preventing Hizbullah from rearming.”

Well now if it’s in Israels best interest you know the UN will be voting against it. Seriously, when was the last time the UN came out with something that was beneficial to the Israelis? I for one am not going to hold my breath here. We will see more Israel/Hezbollah fighting soon if they are allowed to rearm. It will happen right around the time we take a firm stand against Iran so the Iranians can try to divert attention.
