Freedom of the Press?

I love my iPod. Nevermind that I dislike Steve Jobs more than Bill gates. I refuse to think about it.

Anyways, I load my iPod every morning from a couple of radio shows I never get a chance to listen to, and listen to them on the way to work, on break, and on the way home. One of these is a silly FM rock-jock morning show. They’re VERY funny, but they usually only put 1-2 short segments on their site. One of these was an interview with John Ziegler.

Who is John Ziegler? Well, the press really doesn’t want you to know, or even hear about him. See, he made a movie called, “Media Malpractice: How Obama got Elected and Palin was Targeted.” Interesting, eh? This is something most of us on the ‘right’ know about and see everyday: the fairness of the liberal press. This movie points out, using very hard to argue with facts and polls of voters, just how badly the press was backing Obama over everyone else. I would suggest you watch the clips on his site. Some of them are seriously depressing. Like the college student looking woman saying “Redistribute wealth? That sounds like a great idea!” Man. I’ll be ordering the movie as soon as I can. (Kids eat too much. heh)

Which leads me to the main point I wanted to make. The press has become more than what was expected of them by our founders. The Press (capital intended) has become the driving political force in this country. More and more people get their information from only the Press, thus the Press controls the flow of information..and more importantly, DISinformation.

The Press has become the true power in the country. THEY control everything. Even the economy! A recession such as we have now can be created and driven by the perception that there’s a recession. I firmly believe that this recession was created, purposfully, by the Press. Why? To get Obama elected. To oust the Republican party from power. All because the electorite really doesn’t try to find out facts. They accept as facts the things they are told. Like Palin is incredibly stupid. That Obama will save us all. That Dubya is a moron.

What can we do? Spread facts. Dont let the Press take over the country. Read for yourself the things going on in the world and around you. The Press is ruining this country.

Economics 101

A couple days ago, I was at work and talking to a couple of my coworkers about the stimulus package. Its amazing how little people understand about simple economics. Its depressing as hell.

All everyone is worried about is getting a check from on high. Not a single person understands where the money is coming from. When I pointed out that the money is being borrowed and will have to be paid back by our children and their children, they either don’t believe it, or even worse don’t care.

What has happened to education in this country? I know everything I have learned about economics has not come from my public education. I had to learn it on my own, and use logic to think things through. Not a single bit of it comes from school. Hell, most people don’t even understand that government spending and raising taxes will make the recession worse, not help it.

I firmly believe that this is not an accident. An ignorant public is exactly what our government wants. This way they can tell you whatever they want and the public, not knowing better, just believes. Joe Public believes that Obama and Nancy Pelosi have their best interests at heart. When in reality, they dont care a bit. All they want is to further their own schemes and socialistic morals.

There’s a song “Where have all the Cowboys Gone.”  My question is “Where have all the conservatives gone?” Why can’t we get a real conservative to run for President? McCain is a RINO. Dubya wasn’t really a conservative either.

Really, tho, this isn’t the fault of the Republican Party so much as the fault of the voters:

“In a democracy, people get the government they deserve.”

And considering what I’ve seen, we deserve it.

Live Earth??

So I sit down at my computer, and open up a browser. On accident I opened IE instead of Firefox, and it opens to the MSN home page. I notice a banner with my favorite insane ex-vice president, Al Gore. It says “Former vice president Al Gore will answer climate questions today on MSN.” Blink. Blink. Al Gore. A politician will be the expert on climate. Well. Next thing we’ll have Hillary be the expert on marriage!

So I follow some links. Appears there’s a WHOLE series of concerts called ‘Live Earth’ to raise awareness on global warming! Wooo! Thank god for the artists!

Seems that they even sell a ‘Global Warming Survival Handbook’ for those of you that think the world will end soon because its a few degrees warmer. Probably market to those gimps that think ‘Day After Tomorrow’ is a documentary.

What I don’t get is how so many people can be in such a panic about the whole global warming thing. This planet has always had climate changes. Without the help of cars or coal burning power plants or Republicans. Things are always changing. Yes, we must make sure we’re not doing so much harm that we’ll damage things, but I think Mother Earth can take care of herself.

I care about pollution as much as the next guy. I would love to have cleaner burning fuels, and such. The difference between me and ole Al “Ahhhh! Its all gunna end!” Gore is that I’m not stupid enough to think that everything that happens in the climate is my fault.

Hell. Not even all scientists agree that global warming is even bad.Not all scientists agree that Mankind is doing it. And now we have to take what lefties like Gore say as fact. Bah.

Thats about it. Feel free to visit the links above. Some of it is funny and some sad. Its always good to see what the other side thinks. That way you can prepare better when you fight over things, eh?

Happy Conception Day America!

Today is the day that this great country was first formalized on paper. While most people call this the birthday of the USA, it really isn’t. Today is the anniversary of the day that our founding fathers began the long and hard road of independence. The Declaration of Independence is a truly an awe inspiring document. Much more so than the Constitution, even, IMHO.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

Such a government had never been tried. It was quite the ambitious attempt, really. And dangerous. Each of the signers of the Declaration knew they were taking a HUGE chance. Basically, they were signing their death warrant if they should lose. And yet they still did. Most of these men were wealthy and had much to lose. And yet they still did it. Its a good lesson to learn.

Happy Conception Day America. Lets just hope that we are in for many, many more years as the shining city on the hill. The world needs us, and SOME are very willing to destroy us in the name of ‘equality’. Fight them.

Faith and Feelings vs Reason

I am a huge fan of the Terry Goodkind Sword of truth series. Well, the first 4 books of it anyways (the last several are ‘meh’… But the first 4 are fantastic).

Well, I came across one of the rules that screamed out at me. Its obvious that Goodkind has read Atlas Shrugged. In ‘Faith of the Fallen’ Goodkind writes:

The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason. It is not only the most important rule, but the simplest.

Nonetheless, it is the one most often ignored and violated, and by far the most despised. It must be wielded in spite of the ceaseless, howling protests of the wicked.

Misery, iniquity, and utter destruction lurk in the shadows outside its full light, where half-truths snare the faithful disciples, the deeply feeling believers, the selfless followers.

Faith and feelings are the warm marrow of evil. Unlike reason, faith and feelings provide no boundary to limit any delusion, any whim. They are virulent poison, giving the numbing illusion of moral sanction to every depravity ever hatched.

Faith and feelings are the darkness to reason’s light.

Reason is the very substance of truth itself. The glory that is life is wholly embraced through reason. In rejecting it, in rejecting reason, one embraces death.

What a very straightforward statement that holds ALOT of truth. You can apply this to the loonie left, Islamists, the far Christian right… Anyone that uses faith and feeling in the place of reason and logic. The statement “faith and feeling provide no boundary to limit any delusion, any whim” especially applies to the Islamist terrorists. Instead of using reason to think about everything, they only use faith and feelings. There’s nothing wrong with having faith, or having feelings, but you CANNOT allow them to govern your life. You must use reason in your day to day life or you will be a part of your own destruction, and the destruction of all you hold dear.

I would add more, but Goodkind really put it perfectly. Kudos to Terry Goodkind on this tidbit of truth(I suppose its apt, since it IS the Sword of Truth series, eh?)

And let me end with “It must be wielded in spite of the ceaseless, howling protests of the wicked.” Meaning no matter how loudly or angrily the left and those that fund them howl and cry, you MUST use reason and logic and stick to whats right and good.
